Raymond (only 15) commits suicide from repeated torment of her school peers
Deprivation leads to Irritation
“You must be proud of yourself with a death on your conscience…Pathetic.” This was posted by an anonymous person on the aggressor’s Facebook page just after schoolgirl, Marjorie Raymond committed suicide. On Nov 12, 2011, a teenager posted on Facebook, “suspended 5 days! Ahahahaha! Not bad,” after being handed down a penalty from her school from the repeated torment toward Raymond. As a result, within that same month on Nov 28, Marjorie committed suicide leaving behind suicide notes for the world to see. This story should be told around all schools in the nation, to show that bullying is a serious issue, and can lead to fatal results, as described in this horrific event. First of all, this gives all bullies out there a taste of what can be results of their actions. What should of happened and what needs to happen in the future, is to create non-vague bully laws, that generate consequences fitted for this crime. In the article Chantal Larose, the mother of the victim, states that students and school officials need to take bullying seriously and act upon it, saying she doesn’t feel her daughter’s plight was taken seriously enough. We can also take from this event that here at Paulding Middle School when we standby such violence and watch it take place, we are just as much a bully as the person bestowing it. Take a stand to do something when bullying occurs before it gets too far, by creating a presentation towards suspects and victims showing more efficient ways to handle these issues. Chantal also pointed out about the suspect, “I hope she understands that what she did wasn’t nothing. I want her to understand that the things she said to my daughter brought her to this point.” We are all capable of helping our society become bully-free. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” These every-day occurrences that are happening at our local schools will someday end up driving bright, young students into suicide. Enough is enough. Let’s not become silent about things that could effect our society in the future.

Bullying Must Come to a Hault!
"I have nobody. I need someone. My name is
Amanda Todd." this is the last card
she held up to the camera, the day her limp
body was found in her home. This
teenage girl was getting a lot of strangers
online that wanted to chat with her. She then
got sexually harassed and was asked to flash
the camera when she did, the stranger said to show
more skin or he would publish the photos.
Amanda refused, so later the picture was published
The police later came to Amanda's door and
told her the pictures were sent to everyone, bringing
Amanda embarrassment, people called her names
and bullied her, she was so upset
about her life that she committed suicide. The
girls parent's should've never had their on the Internet
without supervision. Teens should be know of
this event so they don't talk to strangers and get stalked
To prevent this from happening all people have
to do is not talk to strangers especially on the Internet
Parents of Arroyo Grande and everywhere around
the world should be more responsible of kids and
teach them not to communicate with strangers
because most of the time they are sick people. For example,
if Amanda's parents were supervising her the
strange man would've never found out who Amanda was.
We the students of Paulding should all know not
to talk to strangers as this could lead to tragic events
such as Amanda's . To prevent this from
happening at our school we should create awareness by showing
students stories similar to Amanda's and spread
the word to everyone we know. No one deserves to be
bullied. No one should feel scared to go to
school or anywhere. With your help by spreading the word on
why bullying is so bad, by telling people
Amanda's story we can prevent an event like hers from happening
and we can all be safe and bully free, here in
Arroyo Grande.

felicia garcia
A bullied teen's last tweet revealed her despair from relentless teasing two
days before she jumped in front of a train in New York City.
Felicia Garcia, 15, was reportedly tormented by her classmates,
who teased her about sexual encounters with football
players, police sources told the New York Daily News.
On Wednesday, Garcia killed herself in front of classmates at a Staten Island
train station. Her friends believe that Garcia's final Twitter post on Monday
showed that bullying had become intolerable.
